An opportunity has presented itself to appoint a suitably qualified candidate into the position of Admin Clerk: Receiving Pta (Night shift). This is a Permanent position based at Pretoria, Pencardia.

Job Summary:

To perform clerical functions to the day to day receiving of specimen in the receiving section to meet the required service level standards
|

Minimum Criteria Required:

Grade 12 or relevant NQF level 4 qualification Bsc Degree Advantageous

Key Performance Areas:
|
• Receive specimens from doctors through the couriers and register barcodes on them for easy identification of the type and content of the specimen according to set standard operating procedures.
• Verify on Meditech system whether the correct specimens are received and confirm the content of the sample. This will also entail ensuring that specimens received are for the correct patients.
• Receives samples and confirms that information on samples correspond with data that has been loaded by the “logging” section according to set standard operating procedures.
• Place specimens on the centrifuge to separate the serum from the cells
• Take the specimens to the relevant Labs and scan the lab number onto the specimen for verification of submissions to the labs.
• Responsible for basic housekeeping including suitable cleaning and preparation of equipment components such as the centrifuge and benches according to set standard operating procedures.
• Administers sorting of batches and one-by-one specimens samples and ensure there is no duplication of number according to set standard operating procedures. This includes the monitoring of patients information.
• Responsible for checking the temperature sheet/ chart to ensure that the specimens are placed in the right temperature.
• Scan samples and batches from outside depots according to set standard operating procedures.
