An opportunity has presented itself to appoint a suitably qualified candidate into the position of Deputy Regional Nurse Manager. This is a Permanent position based at East Rand Johannesburg.
 
Job Summary:
Assist Regional Nurse Manager to plan, direct and manage nursing and other staff, material and financial resources to enable the provision of safe, cost effective, quality and professional phlebotomy and administrative services within specified regions of the organisation.
 
Minimum Criteria Required:
Valid Drivers licence
SANC Registration
Relevant Degree or Diploma

Key Performance Areas:
Assist the Regional Nurse Manager with:

• Contributes as a member of senior management team in a region to annual planning processes for budgets, marketing, staffing and operational matters (e.g. opening and closing of laboratories, etc.) pertaining to nursing/ phlebotomy matters in support of the achievement of organisational strategy and objectives.

• Provides day-to-day direction and management of phlebotomy and associated functions to fulfill organisational objectives, achieving specific goals, and maximising profit and efficiency.

• Develops, manages, communicates and ensures implementation of working instructions, standard operating procedures and operational standards (including LEAN principles) with regard to all nursing processes and practices for the relevant Lancet region in support of the achievement of organisational strategy and objectives.

• Recruits, plans activities, attend to HR functions and manages performance of own staff to ensure that service standards are met in pursuance of team and Lancet’s strategic objectives.

• Trains and develops own staff to ensure they have the skills required by the organisation and are able to achieve their performance objectives.

• Oversees and monitors equipment maintenance, asset management, procurement of goods and staff overtime expenditure to ensure the most effective utilisation of resources, optimisation of stock levels and reduction of costs at all times.

• Liaises with customers (including nursing services and business managers at hospitals) in order to resolve service related issues, address non- conformances, maintain a positive image of the organisation and promote the services of Lancet laboratories.

• Participates in monthly meetings with pathologists and other regional nurse managers to report on operational matters, discuss progress against agreed plans and update/ develop nurse standards, procedures and work instructions.

• Manages the correct application of quality assurance and health and safety processes and standard operating procedures within the nursing/ phlebotomy environment to ensure corrective actions are taken as required.

• Oversees and drives preparation processes for annual internal and external quality control audits pertaining to nursing processes in accordance with agreed plans and timeframes.

Remuneration:
